Frances (Goeckner) Beals

Frances Fran Beals, 91, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Bridge Care Suites in Springfield. Frances was born on November 2, 1932, in Dietrich, IL. the daughter of Lawrence and Clara (Beckman) Goeckner. She married Robert Beals on April 4, 1959 and he preceded her in death in 2017. Frances was a graduate of Teutopolis High School. After graduating she went on to work for St. Anthony’s Hospital for 7 years and St. John’s Hospital for 30 years. Frances was a lifelong member of Church of St. Jude in Rochester. She also enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, and was a Cardinals and Illini Fan.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Mark and Gary Beals; brother, Alfred Goeckner; and one infant sister, Alice Goeckner.

She is survived by two children; Jeff (Kim) Beals and Julie (Scott) Kilby; grandchildren, Seth, Bradyn, and Mitchell Kilby; brothers, Ray (Rose Ann) Goeckner, Steve (Andrea) Goeckner; sisters, Mary Ann Donsbach, Norma Hoelscher and Rosemary (Robert) Hoelscher;

The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Bridge Care Suites for the care and compassion they showed Frances during her time there.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 10:00AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:00AM at Wilson Park Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St, in Rochester. Burial will follow at Rochester Township Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Church of St. Jude in Rochester.
